   intimate of Queen Marie Antoinette
   Born in Turin, Marie-Thérese-Louise de Savoie-Carignan, princess Lamballe, who was widowed after only a year of marriage, became the mistress of the household of Queen marie ANTOiNETTE,to whom she was a devoted friend (1774). Imprisoned at La Force during the revolution of 1789, Mme de Lamballe was killed during the September massacres of 1792.
